Last Week

So last week my brother Adam came out from Cedar City, UT to hang out with us. We went to this carnival thing put on by our church to help with funds with the neighboring park. It was a lot of fun. Ella had a blast getting her face painted, getting balloons, running around, playing in water and having soooo many people to look at. We had a lot of fun eating yummy food, watching fireworks, and pretty much people watching. It was a really nice family outing that we don't always get.



After the Carnival we had about 1 day to get ready and my two brothers, Ella and I left Monday for Park City for a family reunion.The first picture is of my whole mom's side of the family. Since the last reunion, we've added 3 girlfriend/ boyfriends, 2 husbands, 1 2/3 great grandchildren....and a partriege in a pear tree. Here are a few pictures. We were there a whole week and it was fabulous. Joseph had to work a little longer so he joined us on Tuesday. My family (mom's side) plans these awesome family reunions 2 years in advance and we have them once every other year. This year was in Park City (hence the reason we went there :) ) We stayed at some resort condos and each family got their own. It was nice to see so many people and for them to all finally get to meet my WHOLE little family. It was also nice to have weather 40+ degrees cooler than we're used to! We (we meaning I) did a lot of shopping at the awesome ginormous outlet mall and still didn't get to make it to all of the stores. :) The reunion ended Friday the 27th but we stuck around in Provo to visit a handful of other people we know and love. Some of Ella's cousins, Joseph's sis 'n law, Some of his buddies from high school, my old roomie Crystal, one of my best girls Sarah Ann (hey girl), my cousin from my dad's side cut mine and Joseph's hair. We got to see Eric and CJ's new baby (which only made me realize that I'm gonna have one of them in about 5 months....SCARY!), and out of no where...a total surprise, one of my high school buddies that we saw walking to his car. I saw him from our car while we were driving and had Joseph turn around. I got out of the car and sure enough... it was him! Funny thing is, I saw him randomly 2 years ago at one of Joseph's mission buddy's weddings. Apparently, Jake (my friend) served a mission with the bride's brother and got invited to the wedding. What are the chances?? Crazy. Anyway, so it was a very eventful week and we got to see so many people from all over the place. We had a lot of fun. We came back on Sunday. I must say, it's good to be home but sad to go. I've got some pictures but they're on my brother's camera so y'all will have to wait till he sends them to me.

Since I've been gone all week and there is a lot to catch y'all up on you might be hearing from me a little more than you could possible like. :) lol. August is a busy busy month for us Killians.

Summer is definately here!

Boy is it HOT HOT HOT out here! This month hasn't been any cooler than 109 degrees. The hottest day was 116 degrees! I can't even walk out and get the mail with out beads of sweat dripping from my forehead. The other day Ella and I were walking to the mail box and we saw another dead pigeon on the ground. Gross. This is the 3rd one we've seen since the summer! I really think it's b/c of the heat. Lots of transformers and air conditioners have blown b/c it's so hot and they're working so hard. It's crazy! Hospitals and community centers have been taking in the homeless b/c it's so hot they are dying on the streets. I feel so bad for Joseph. He's out side everyday working at least 8 hours a day in the heat. He just sits next to a hot car on the black top and works on the cars. He has the best attitude about it though. He never really complains about the heat and just goes out everyday with out thinking twice about how hot it's going to be and works his tail off for us. The other day Joseph told me that he drank over a whole gallon of water and didn't even have to use the bathroom once. So we're all really excited to go to my family reunion next week in Park City, UT. The nights alone are going to be like 20 degrees cooler than the nights here! :)



Not much else has happened...Last night we went to a friend's house for their daughter's birthday party. All the kids had a blast playing outside in the pool and water toys. It's so nice for Ella to have a lot of friends to play with that are her age. Here is a picture of all the girls playing. Not the best picture but nobody would stay still so it's candid. Hannah (on the slide) got kind of cut out of the shot. Katie is out of the pool, Ella is in the green, Emma in braids, and Sophie playing with the boat. There is only one boy in the group and that's Emma's brother Charlie who is Ella's age. Sophie's mom is having a boy next month and me and Katie's mom are both pregnant and everyone is counting on us to be having a boy for poor Charlie. lol

Joseph and I were talking about how much we love our ward. It's perfect. We have friends our age that get together for bbqs, dinner or just to hang out a lot, kids Ella's age, fun play groups, great ward parties and nobody is stuck up like they were in Henderson. It seems like everyone in the ward cares about each other and they all help one another out. We do live in the ghetto but there are some nice neighborhoods in our area that we are hoping will stay nice so that when it comes time for us to buy a home we can stay in our ward.

Warning... Lots of complaining

Oh man today was quite the pregnancy day! It started off walking into a closed door. Wow! I woke up at like 3 am to pee. Usually the bathroom door is open but this morning it was closed and I seriously walked right into the door and smacked my face on it! There was this huge CRACK which sent Joseph shooting outta bed scared to death. Kinda funny now but oh man, it hurt. Then Ella and I get ready to go run some errands. I drop the car off to get the oil changed and then go grocery shopping (Walmart is so great!). They tell me it will be an our or less for the car. So I'm thinking, "ok, I can do that, I'll just get the perishables at the end of the hour and then pay for it and go pick up the car". So I get to the automotive place a HALF HOUR late (just in case they weren't done) and my car is in the garage still. So I wait another FORTY FIVE MINUTES! till they finally get done with my car. In the meantime, while I'm waiting I'm starving so I'm getting sick, Ella's starving and tired so she's getting cranky, not to mention my feet, legs and back are killing me from walking around so much. So my car finally gets done 2 1/2 HOURS after I turned it in. Luckily, when I went to pay for it there was a sign above the cash register that said, "100% satisfaction guaranteed". So I told the lady I was about 100% unsatisfied and why. So she gave me a free oil change for next time I come in. I was satisfied with that, until...... I walk out to my car and put Ella in I realize that the cracker crumbs from all her crackers and snacks were still all over the floor of the car (which I paid them extra to vacuum up) nothing was vacuumed up in the front of the car either. Then, after I put Ella in the back seat I walk around to the front to get into my seat and oh, don't worry about all of the nasty oil underneath my door handle. Sick! It got all over my hand and was on my steering wheel. Grrr, I was so angry. I was so glad I complained about it being so long to get the oil changed b/c if I hadn't I would've had to get Ella out of the car, left all my perishable groceries in the 113 degree weather in my black car, walk back in the store and complained about my messy car. So anyway, as you can see I'm already very annoyed. I start driving home but once I'm half way there I realize, "uhhgg, I forgot I needed to go to the bank!" So I have to turn around and drive back out there and go to the bank. I'm sooo hot and achy that I decide to just go in the drive thru. So I get there, there's only 1 drive thru and there are two cars in it. So I get behind the second car and wait. I start singing songs with Ella and naming all the things around us. After a while, I look up at the clock and realize that it has seriously been almost 10 minutes and I look at the cars in front of me and neither of them have moved. I see all these other cars passing me, staring at me. So I back up and drive up close by those other cars.... and oh, don't worry about there not being anyone in those cars that were in front of me! Wow! I guess the window was closed and that's where the manager parks. I felt so dumb...and more frustrated. :) So I go in and do my thing and finally get home...where it's safe. lol I swear what is my problem today?? :) ok, that was a lot of complaining so sorry for that. :) Joseph just got home from playing church ball with a sprained ankle so I gotta go help him.

4th of July!

I love everything about the 4th of July. I love the fireworks but it's more like everything that leads up to the fireworks is what makes the day for me. Like the traveling, the sun, the carnivals, the barbecues, the friends, the parties and everything else in between and to have fireworks at the end is just like the cherry on top. This was Ella's 1st Fourth that she was able to see fireworks. (last year she was only 6 months so we didn't bring her outside.) I was excited to see how she'd react to the fireworks. We left Tuesday afternoon for Cedar City to hang out with my family and spent the night. Joseph and my brother went to a midnight showing of Transformers and said it was so worth it. I on the other hand wasn't about to give up my sleep for a movie. Wednesday morning we woke up way too early to go to a free breakfast put on by my parent's ward. (I am all for getting a nice hot breakfast that I didn't have to cook or pay for) Then we took really long naps, and just hung out till it was bbq time. After the barbecue we set off for St. George to meet up with our friends, the Cox family. It was nice to see them again and catch up. I love it when Ella and their little boy, Gavin, can play together b/c they play so well together. They actually share, and are nice to each other. They even give kisses and hugs. Here is a few pictures of Ella trying to kiss Gavin. I don't think he even knew what she was trying to do but she kept giving her 10% waiting for him to give the other 90%. lol. She wouldn't give up either.




Ella ended up really liking all the colors and the sparkles of the fireworks but not so much the loud blasts. She kept running to me or daddy and wrapping her arms around our necks as tight as she could. After about 5 minutes of worring about all the loud blasts she decided it really wasn't gonna get her and then she got a little bord and started playing with the glow necklaces and braceletts. She had a lot of fun running all over the park and getting to see all kinds of neat people and different things.





There was a playground, one of those big carnival swings and one of those big blow up bounce gyms that looks like a castle. There were tons of vendors and even though we didn't buy anything, it just set the mood.

And here are a few more pictures from the night. We got to meet up with some old friends the McBrides and the Coxes. All of us girls in this picture are pregnant and all due about 4 weeks from each other. (don't worry about me being bigger than the other two. :) )



At the end of the fireworks show we drove back home. Ella played with her glow sticks for a little bit but then fell fast asleep. She was sooo pooped from such a long hot day. St. George was 114 degrees! Crazy! But we did have a lot of fun.
